Producing & Directing

I have been producing and directing comedy since 1998 when, with long-term collaborator Barry Ferns, I staged the first Leisure Virus sketch shows in London.

I have since produced and directed numerous shows for the London stage, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Melbourne Comedy Festival.

Positive press:

“The four members [of This Sketch Show Belongs to Lionel Richie] have created an hour of surreal genius. All four are capable actors too, turning in deadpan performances that, aside from a few bum notes, have the crowd in stitches. And the show ends with a synchronised boogie to All Night Long. What more could you ask for?”
Metro

"How lovely to see a bouncy comedy troupe enjoying themselves. This surreal collection of vignettes exploring middle-class sexual perversions, a Lionel Richie obsession and pensioner hooligans is quirky, fast-paced and often very funny."
The List

“The Leisure Virus belongs to a contemporary thread of humour that can be found in television series such as Big Train and The League of Gentlemen, as well as the work of Chris Morris. This would only be a problem if The Leisure Virus were not bold, original and fresh, which it is, and deliciously funny too.”
The Scotsman

“Doreen is experimental and subversive in the extreme – certainly not a show for fans of straight stand-up. Unsurprisingly then, I consider it one of the best comedy performances I’ve seen this festival… See Doreen – you probably won’t understand it, but you might just love it.”
